The brand is so reliable and trustworthy. I am a big fan of it. All its products really promise what they state. This water boiler has a very good quality, its plastic smell goes away within one or two boiling before first use as promised; and the big window gives a better view to see the water level. I’ve been trying to get a cheaper water boiler, but those plastic smells couldn’t be boiled/washed away after at least 10 times of process. For health issue, I highly recommend this water boiler or any product from this brand.
I have had mine for a year and replaced an on-demand water boiler, amazon brand, with this. Saves a few minutes every morning. I keep it at 190 degrees, hot, but save some energy by keeping the water right under boiling. Easy to clean if you have vinegar. Extraordinarily well-designed and easy to use, it has a high-speed and accurate temperature sensor.
Bought one of these (nearly identical other than color) in 2008. Lasted 15 years, replacing only the lid gasket after about 5 years (about $10 iirc) and then the entire top assembly about 4 years ago ($30 or so). Finally, after 15 years, the tank coating began to break down and started to rust, so finally time to buy a new one. Great kitchen appliance. Well designed, high-quality construction. Glad to have had the service of my old one for as long as it lasted. RIP, Zoji!
This thing is great, it gets used every single day and is proving to be a capable workhorse just like our Zojirushi rice cooker. My only, very mild complaint is the timer function. I wish it was just a clock/alarm system like most coffee pots instead of just being a number of hours.
Works perfectly, now our family uses this daily. It did have a taste at the beginning, but after filling it with purified or distilled water only, there is no more weird taste. Because we use Purified or distilled water only, we have not seen any build-up or rust.
